About Us

Backyaad Tingz is a family owned store. We started up this store to serve our clients with healthy vital foods and services that we incorporate in our daily practices. We want our community to be aware of the nutrients that our body needs to thrive above sub health levels and need in order to feel energized. 

Backyaad Tingz got its name because family and friends would ask where did you get the fruits and vegetables from and I would respond 'my Backyaad!' Backyaad is Jamaican dialect for backyard and the word 'tingz' means things. Our backyard is our sanctuary. It is where my family comes together to garden, ground (contact with the Earth's surface electrons by walking barefoot that transfer the energy from the ground into the body), meditate and practice yoga. 

Ive worked in the healthcare field for 18 years in orthopaedics and six years in the ER. I've watched how important it is to take care of yourself and learned it is a necessity to teach your children what "truly" nourishes your body---physically, emotionally and mentally!
